Voting is now open for the 2026 Brighton Restaurant Awards Vote Online (BRAVO). There are 18 different categories and you can vote in as many or as few as you like, with only one vote for each category.

Although if you're not sure who to vote for then join us as we take a look at each category and suggest a couple of possible contenders... 

International Cuisine

We love welcoming visitors from across the globe which is why we are thrilled to once again sponsor this category. Although voting is going to be tricky as how do you pick just one? Will you back the Asian flavours at The Chilli Pickle or perhaps you prefer a taste of Algeria at The Blue Man or maybe the essence of Sri Lanka at The Coconut Island will win your vote.

Best Brighton & Hove Restaurant

This is the big one which has previously been won by veggie pioneers terre á terre and the stylish Burnt Orange but will they get your vote? Other strong contenders include Apiary, The Gothic Crab and the sylish Dilsk at drakes hotel.

Best Sussex Restaurant

Brighton is a great base for exploring the stunning county of Sussex and along with plenty of things to do and places to visit there are also some excellent restaurants. But which will get your vote? Perhaps it will be the Michelin Star dining experience at Interlude or maybe you prefer a restaurant attached to a vineyard such as Chalk at Wiston Estate or will the restaurant at The White Horses gallop into the lead?

Best Brunch

Brightonians are rarely up in time for breakfast which is why many prefer a spot of brunch instead. But will you vote for tea & cake at LOST or perhaps a bacon sandwich at Trading Post? 

Plant Champions

Who will be your victorious vegan? Do you love the pizzas at Purezza or does vegan sushi at Moshimo get your vote? 

Best Cocktails 

Whether you fancy a Cuba Libre, Mojito or a Daiquiri you'll be spoilt for choice in Brighton. This category is sponsored by Goldstone Rum which is perhaps why I was drawn to rum cocktails but don't worry you can find all sorts of cocktails across the city but which bar will you be toasting? Will it be previous winner's Dishoom Permit Room or perhaps The Flipside or maybe Bootlegger's? 

Best Sunday Roast

We think this one is going to cause a debate! Do you prefer the traditional Sunday Roast in a pub such as The Basket Makers or maybe it'll be a sharing roast at The Coal Shed or Kindling that gets your vote? 

Best Brighton & Hove Pub

There are pubs in Brighton to suit any mood but do you tend to go to the iconic Cricketers, maybe a Brighton Gin at Bottoms Rest or perhaps you head to the tap room to try the newest release from UnBarred?

Best Team

This will be a tough one as we're always inspired by the hard-work, passion and enthusiam of our food & drink partners but who will get your vote? Who gave you the warmest welcome on your last visit? Perhaps previous winners The Salt Room will be beaten by one of their sister restaurants this year - Burnt Orange or Tutto.

Best Brighton & Hove Café

If you're looking for a flavoursome boost of caffeine then you could head to Baked or perhaps Café Domenica will get your vote? This award is being sponsored by our friends at Woodfire Camping. 

Best Wine List

When thinking of wine it's only natural to think of Hotel du Vin but they are not the only restaurant with an excellent wine list, seafood restaurants English's of Brighton and Riddle & Finns both have a great selection including several options from Sussex vineyards. 

Most Family Friendly

Brighton Fringe are sponsoring the award for most family friendly but who will scoop the prize? Will the tasty Greek kids menu at Nostos help them win again or perhaps it will be the pizzas at Fatto a Mano or maybe you love a family breakfast at Bagelman?

Sustainability Champions

A good night out can still be sustainable but which venue do you think deserves the award? Will Lost in the Lanes locally sourced seasonal menus get your vote or do you love Foodilic's great value healthy menus? 

Best Lunch

Why settle for a sad sandwich at your desk when the city is full of fantastic foodie options to fuel you up for the afternoon? Will you vote for the variety of options at Shelter Hall food market? Perhaps you love the midweek set menus at The Seahorse or maybe a succulent steak at Kindling. 

Best Takeaway

Sometimes we all need the comforts of home but without the stress of cooking a meal and that's when we need our takeaway heroes! But who will get your vote, will it be a delicious bagel from Bagelman or perhaps something spicy from Dishoom Permit Room? 

Best Sussex Pub

I love a walk in the countryside and we all know the best walks end at a pub! But which one gets your vote? Perhaps The Plough Inn in the picturesque village of Rottingdean or is it the Eight Bells at Jevington that's your post-walk pub of choice?

Best Value

Even when budgets are tight there is no need to skimp on quality. But where is your top value for money place to dine? Do you love The Walrus in The Lanes or will you vote for the yummy pasta at Al Duomo? 

Sweets & Treats

If you need a little afternoon pick-me-up then those of us with a sweet tooth are spoilt for choice. Will it be a cheeky ice-cream from Boho Gelato or a delicious doughnut from Flour Pot that satisfies your craving? 

Hopefully we've given you some food for thought (sorry!) but if you're not still not sure who to vote for then it sounds like you've got an excuse for a lovely meal out.
